1. Make sure it’s the one you want.
You don’t want to hand over your hard-earned money or commit to financing a used car until you’re certain the vehicle works for you. From the way it drives to the way your favorite music sounds on the speakers, the test drive helps you verify whether you want it.
2. Get inside the car.
The outside of a car can look great, but you want to get a thorough inspection of the inside as well. Test-driving an
affordable used car gives you inside time so you can check out the sound system, the cup holders, the air conditioning, heat, and even the smells. You’re going to spend most of your time with the car inside it, so you want to make sure you’re happy with it.
3. Check out how the used car handles.
Even if the vehicle is only a few years old, don’t assume its steering, brakes, or engine is perfect. The test drive allows you time on the road to check these things and see how it drives.
If you notice anything unusual during a test drive, you will want to bring it up to the used car dealership representative. You may be able to use the information you observed during the test drive to
